ROOM BOX COMMISSIONS
If you would like to commission a room box; maybe for a special birthday, anniversary, retirement or just for yourself, please contact me for further details.
A 20% deposit of total price is required on ordering then full payment on completion.
I use a variety of ready made room boxes, antique cabinets, wooden boxes etc. depending on your requirements.
Please allow an absolute minimum of 3 months for completion once ordered, as I usually have several projects on the go at any one time.
1940s Wartime Hospital Ward At Christmas
My brief was to produce a realistic scene in an antique Victorian smokers cabinet of a wartime hospital ward staged at Christmas. Above you can see a sliding photo box to show how this scene developed from conception to its completion.

This was created in an antique smokers cabinet and sold at auction to raise money for Breast Cancer Campaign, at Thame Dolls House & Miniatures Fair. It appeared as a "how to make" feature in February & March issues of Dolls House & Miniatures Scene Magazine. Several items were donated by specific UK artisans.

 Old Attic Scene
This scene has been created inside an antique "smoker's cabinet" and filled with specific items requested by a Canadian customer. My brief was to create an old dirty attic room filled with junk and paraphernalia, including a book by Darwin, old doctor's bag with stethoscope plus old botany pictures etc.

 GARAGE ROOM BOX

This was created inside an antique pine box for a Canadian customer where my brief was to create a messy garage scene to include specific items such as an old juke box, lots of bits of cars etc., a radio controlled aeroplane plus particular scaled down person photos, trophies etc.

This room box was created for a Canadian customer, as a tongue in cheek present for someone called "Lennie". My brief was to incorporate books, pictures, items personal to the chap in question plus a "lookalike" doll was commissioned. The whole scene was created in a vintage smokers cabinet.

 Room Scene For 80th Birthday Present

This is a room scene of a spare bedroom filled with mementoes and items specific to the lady in question who was given this as an 80th birthday present. Personal certificates, family photos etc. were scanned and scaled down. Tennis & badminton trophies, cricket bat, ephmera etc all related to the lady in question.

 1940s Wartime Hallway

This hallway scene based in wartime 1940s was created and sold at the Thame Dolls House & Miniatures Fair 2009 auction to raise money for Breast Cancer Campaign. Specific items including dolls were donated by some UK artisans. The room setting, fixtures and fittings appeared over several issues as a "how to make" feature in Dolls House & Miniatures Scene Magazine. It was created inside a Sid Cooke room box.

This was created inside an old glass fronted cabinet to depict a messy and old fashioned workshop scene. As you can see a little dolls house is in the process of being built!

This was commissioned by a lady for a special present for her little baby niece as a keepsake heirloom. My brief was to incorporate many old "girly" toys inside a dirty and dusty old attic room. Family photos were scaled down plus specific items as instructed by client. This was created in an antique smokers cabinet.

This was commissioned by a lady for her husband's 70th birthday present. My brief was to include his hobbies somehow, which ranged from golf, shooting, fishing, gardening and Leicester City FC.
Was great fun to do!
He called it "His life in a box"!

 Old Attic

This was commissioned by a lady for her husband's 80th birthday present.
My brief was to make a similar scene like the original Attic Scene featured on my KT Miniatures Gallery page, however this chap was a retired bank manager, a mason and had been in the RAF.
His hobbies (even though she said he didn't really have many) included playing bridge, bowls and was partial to Shirley Bassey!
With the help of a lot of personal documents, photos etc (sneaked out by his wife) & a few coded phone conversations (he often would answer the phone) managed to come up with this scene!

 1950s Kitchen Room Box

The aim was to create a kitchen scene very different and unique. The corner cupboard and food safe had opening doors. The table had an opening drawer.

Please note that some of our room boxes are created inside second hand boxes/containers and in some cases antique chests/smokers cabinets etc. Therefore the outside and indeed frontage in some cases may not be in pristine condition ie. there may be the occasional scratch or mark on the perspex, glass, wood etc. Occasionally we use ready made room boxes but please note that we do not sell these room boxes unfilled.
